Swing Times Venues: Club Jinxed

Club Jinxed is located on parcel number 13, in Swing Times.  That parcel number inspired the «bad luck» theme.  Playing on triskaidekaphobia, the fear of the number thirteen, the building contains that many floors and Club Jinxed was founded.
The building architecture and interior design both have a Streamline Moderne style.  The decor in the club is minimalist, with just a few hints at the bad luck theme:  a mirror at the back of the club will that break when someone gets near it; there is an open umbrella against one wall: all visitors must enter through the front doors which forces everyone to walk under a pair of ladders; the club's mascot, Jinx, the black cat, appears on the sign out front, and he has been present for the parties that were held there.

The whole arrangement is designed to invoke the feel of a club from the era, with the sleek Streamline Moderne styles inside and out.  The flaunting of superstition hopefully brings a sense of whimsy.
In Swing Times inaugural year, there was a large number of Fridays which occurred on the 13th of the month, therefore Club Jinxed opened on a Friday the 13th and also held all of weekly dances there when they occurred on the 13th.
While waiting for a Friday the 13th, the club is available for dances and other events.  This winter, the club has been the home of our weekly Game Night, featuring "Greedy, Greedy."
