Swing Timer: What brought you to Swing Times?
Sed Southpaw: I moved here last year from California. Traveling has always been a passion so I adventured all over until I found myself in Swing Times. I quickly fell in love with the town therefore I made it my home. I adore busy city life and I was lucky enough to discover that Swing Times offered that with small town charm.
ST: Tell us a bit about your background.
SS: I grew up on the coast of California where I followed in my father's footsteps and became a fisherman. After college, I became a Pharmacist and opened a drugstore in San Francisco. But I wanted adventure so I left home to spend some time traveling. During that time, I followed the circus, various theater groups, artists and musicians. While visiting the East Coast and discovering what it had to offer, I discovered my new home in Swing Times. Soon after, I decided to support the war effort with a Victory Garden, I saw a need in the community for a grocer, thus I opened The Victory Garden Cafe and shortly after The Victory Garden Market.
ST: I know you are always incredibly busy, but fill us in on your daily tasks.
SS: My day starts early; usually with a walk with my dog Snacky around the neighborhood, then I head on over the the cafe to have an espresso. When I finally wake up I usually give the market a good sweep and straighten up the place before the city starts bustling. There is much to keep up with at the shop, especially with all the food ration guidelines. I check the calender for the day, plan it out and connect with my friends.
ST: What do you like to do in the spare time you find?
SS: Well, I like exploring new places, taking the boat out fishing, gardening, cooking and canning, watching films, seeing live musicians, dancing, taking pictures, having a quiet cup of tea, meeting all kinds of people and creatures and spending time with my friends and neighbors. I am up for any new experience really. I used to love to go out for drives, but with the gas rations I have had to cut back on driving for recreation. We all have to do our part to support the war effort though, right?
ST: What was your proudest moment in regards to Swing Times?
SS: My proudest moment would have to be gathering with my neighbors for the first annual Progressive Dinner, in December. We traveled to various areas throughout the beautiful city for different courses of one big meal. I was quite proud to be part of such a vibrant community. I was pleased to be able to highlight the aesthetics of Swing Times' locations paired with the charm of its eclectic residents.
ST: If you were offered one million dollars or the ability to have one superpower for the rest of your life, what would you choose and why?
SS: Well, a noble man would, of course, choose the power to eradicate hate, which would solve most problems, end the war and bring humanity together in harmony. But I will settle for the power to turn random objects into delicious treats. I am definitely a man with a sweet tooth. With all the recent sugar rationing, I simply can't get enough sweets!
ST: What or who is your favorite and why…
Animal? Lion... a powerful creature that can terrify you and wow you with its beauty at the same time.
Superhero? Anyone that can truly master the art of selflessness or *The Amazing Cupcake Man* whoever saves the day first.
