The SpotLight Column introduces the most interesting, famous and exquisite Citizens of Swing Times. The questionnaire is almost the same and what makes each interview unique is the subject’s answers and reactions. This week, Ms. Lulu Castiglione, Swing Times Community Events Director, is under the Spotlight.
*SL Name: Lulu Castiglione
*Rez day: July 2, 2010
*Best moment in SL: March 26, 2011 when I gave birth to my daughter Gigi Cate!
ST: What brought you to Swing Times?
LC: Shortly after having our daughter, my husband was killed overseas. It had been a difficult time and we needed a fresh start. Captain Paul T. Creighton has always been a dear friend to us and invited us to the Swing Times Easter Parade. Once we were there...and met Miss Alesha and some of the community and saw how lovely it was, I fell in love with Swing Times. I knew this was a place I wanted to live and a place I wanted to raise our daughter.
ST: Tell us a bit about your background.
LC: Born with the gift of gab, I have always found it easy to reach out and talk to people. That coupled with my creative nature I have come to fulfill my dream of writing. I have been very lucky with the opportunities afforded me here to be expressive and meet new people. I love to sit and talk to people and see what makes them smile or cry or laugh.
ST: I know you’re always incredibly busy, but fill us in on your daily tasks.
LC: As my day begins and ends it is always with my little love, Gigi. We have breakfast together and bake cookies. We read and play. We cuddle. When mommy is off to work she is with Nanny Sadie. I write for three publications. Events and interviews keep me bustling. As Community Events Director for Swing Times, I welcome new residents and shopkeepers to our lovely town. I plan social events based on our community at my Greenhouse. On Mondays I host the Swing Times Greedy Game. I think I need a nap.
ST: What do you like to do in the spare time you find?
LC: Spare time is at a premium when you are a single parent. But when given the chance I like to visit with my friends. Take walks with Gigi. Recently I have discovered the treasure hunts and find them fun and relaxing. My husband and I traveled quite a bit and when Gigi is a little older I would like to take her on grand adventures.
ST: What was your proudest moment in regards to Swing Times?
LC: There are so many...how can I chose? I have to say that I was thrilled with the turnout for the Harvest Tea. Great people. Great music. Great time.
ST: If you were offered one million dollars or the ability to have one superpower for the rest of your life, what would you choose and why?
LC: Superpower. I would like the ability to heal ones pain. No two people feel or experience pain the same and I would like to be able to take a person's hand and truly make them feel that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and that they will be okay.
ST: What or who is your favourite and why…
LC: Animal? Monkey. They are such funny little creatures. Full of life and personality. They make my smile.
Superhero? Knight of the Sky. He is my own hero for many reasons. But mostly because he is created by my dear friend.
Place to live? On the water. As I do in Swing Times.
Place to vacation? In the mountains. I love the winter and snow. Skiing and sledding. Hot cocoa by the fire.
Season of the year? Autumn. How the leaves and the air changes. Crisp and fresh. It is beautiful.
Book? Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell.
Movie? Gone with the Wing. A true masterpiece.
Celebrity? Irving G. Thalberg. He was a genius. He created the best of the best and his loss at such a young age is a huge impact in the film industry.
Hobby? Life. *smiles*
